Seminar on “Bangladesh–China Cooperation in a Changing Regional Environment: Connectivity, Development, and Policy Priorities”

The Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) organized a seminar titled “Bangladesh–China Cooperation in a Changing Regional Environment: Connectivity, Development, and Policy Priorities” at the BIISS Auditorium, Dhaka.

The seminar brought together distinguished policymakers, diplomats, academics, researchers, and development practitioners to discuss the evolving dynamics of Bangladesh–China relations in the context of a rapidly changing regional and global environment. Participants examined the opportunities and challenges arising from growing economic interdependence, regional connectivity initiatives, infrastructure development, trade and investment cooperation, and emerging geopolitical developments in Asia.

Discussions highlighted the significance of Bangladesh–China cooperation in advancing sustainable development, enhancing regional connectivity, supporting industrial modernization, and strengthening people-to-people exchanges. The seminar also explored how Bangladesh can effectively align its national development priorities with regional cooperation frameworks while safeguarding its strategic interests and maintaining balanced relations with regional and global partners.

• To examine opportunities for enhancing cooperation in connectivity, trade, investment, infrastructure development, technology transfer, and industrial growth.

• To explore the role of regional connectivity initiatives in promoting economic integration, sustainable development, and cross-border cooperation.

• To evaluate the implications of evolving geopolitical and geoeconomic trends for Bangladesh–China cooperation and Bangladesh’s broader foreign policy objectives.

• To identify policy priorities and practical measures for maximizing mutual benefits while advancing Bangladesh’s national interests and development goals.

• To foster dialogue and collaboration among policymakers, diplomats, academics, researchers, and development stakeholders for informed policy formulation and strategic decision-making.
