Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) has organized a Roundtable discussion to host the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Programs and Operations, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, the US State Department, Donna Welton and her delegation. Other members of the delegation include: Jennifer Pulliam, Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) Program Director, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, the US State Department; and Mike Rembold, Coordinator (GPOI), Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, State Department. Maxwell Martin, Political-Military Affairs Officer, U.S. Embassy Dhaka accompanied the delegation.

Four presentations were made by BIISS Researchers covering the issues of ‘Bangladesh's Strategic Culture and Outlook’ by A.S.M. Tarek Hassan Semul, Researh Fellow; ‘Bangladesh-US Security and Defence Cooperation’ by M Ashique Rahman, Senior Researh Fellow; ‘Bangladesh in the Changing Nature of UN Peacekeeping Operations’, by Shanjida Shahab Uddin, Research Fellow: and ‘Repatriation of Rohingyas: Role of International Actors’ by Md. Jahan Shoieb, Research Fellow. A Q/A session followed the presentations.

Acting Dirctor General Colonel M A Saadi, afwc, psc delivered the address of welcome while Ambassador Kazi Imtiaz Hossain, PAA, concluded the session with his concluding remarks.
