The Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) hosted a Book Launching Seminar, titled “Look Africa: Exploring New Horizons for Bangladesh” on Monday, 24 February 2025, at the BIISS auditorium. H E Mr Md Touhid Hossain, Honourable Adviser for Foreign Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, attended the seminar as the Chief Guest. Ambassador Humayun Kabir, President, Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) Chaired the session. Major General Iftekhar Anis, BSP, awc, afwc, psc, PEng, Director General of BIISS, delivered the welcome address. Following the welcome address, there were two presentations. The first presentation was delivered by Dr Razia Sultana, Senior Research Fellow, BIISS. The second Presentation was made by Mr AFM Zahid-ul-Islam, Former DG (Africa wing) and Current DG (North America wing), Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There were two distinguished Discussants of the Book, Dr Munshi Sulaiman, Professor and Research Director, BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD) and Dr Marufa Akter, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Global Studies and Governance, School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), who delivered their valuable comments on the Book. Following the Discussants’ discussion, there was an interactive panel discussion with the Distinguished Authors of the Book. Along with the insights from Authors in the Book, there was a vibrant discussion among distinguished participants from government, academia, and the business community, stressing that the future of Bangladesh-Africa relations possesses significant promise.
