Roundtable on Strengthening Bangladesh’s National Security Architecture: Strategic Priorities and Policies

The Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS), in collaboration with the British High Commission, Dhaka, organised a roundtable titled “Strengthening Bangladesh’s National Security Architecture: Strategic Priorities and Policies” on Wednesday, 23 September 2026.

The roundtable brought together policymakers, security and defence experts, academics, researchers and other relevant stakeholders to exchange views on Bangladesh’s evolving national security landscape and the strategic priorities required to strengthen the country’s national security architecture.

The discussions focused on contemporary and emerging security challenges facing Bangladesh, institutional coordination, strategic policymaking, and the need for a comprehensive and forward-looking approach to national security. Participants also exchanged views on strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing coordination among relevant stakeholders, and developing effective policy responses to emerging traditional and non-traditional security challenges.

The roundtable provided an important platform for informed and constructive dialogue on Bangladesh’s national security priorities and contributed to broader discussions on developing a resilient, coordinated and effective national security architecture.
